Celsius (ºC) to Fahrenheit (ºF) calculator

Input the amount of celsius you want to convert to fahrenheit in the below input field, and then click in the "Convert" button. But if you want to convert from fahrenheit to celsius, please checkout this tool.

Formula

Formula used to convert °C to °F:

F(x) = (x * 9/5) + 32

For example, if you want to convert 15 °C to °F, just replace x by 15 [°C]:

15 °C = 15*(9/5))+32 = 59.0 °F

Steps

  1. Multiply the amount of Celsius degrees by 9 (nine) and then divide by 5 (five). Or instead of doing two steps, you can just multiply the result of the first step by 1.8 (9/5 = 1.8).
  2. Add 32 to the previous result.
  3. The result will be expressed in Fahrenheit degrees.

About Celsius (°C)

The Celsius scale (symbol °C), also known as the centigrade scale, is a temperature scale used to measure temperature defined by the International System of Units (SI). It is used by all countries except the United States, the Bahamas, Belize, the Cayman Islands and Liberia.

Since 1743, the Celsius scale is based on 0 °C for the freezing point of water and 100 °C for the boiling point of water at 1 atm pressure.

About Fahrenheit (°F)

The Fahrenheit is a unit of measurement or scale used to measure temperature. The Fahrenheit uses the symbol °F. It is widely used in the United States, the Bahamas, Belize, and the Cayman Islands.

The Fahrenheit scale proposed by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit in 1724. The lower defining point, 0 °F, was established as the freezing temperature of a solution of brine made from equal parts of ice, water and salt (ammonium chloride).another point of reference he took in consideration was the melting point of ice (32 °F). The scale is now usually defined by two fixed points: the temperature at which water freezes into ice (32 °F), and the boiling point of water (212 °F), as defined at sea level and standard atmospheric pressure.
